To fulfill our aim of supporting members to get on the river, HVCC owns and maintains a fleet of equipment available for hire to club members at affordable rates.

Hireage Procedure

The hire procedure applies to all use of club gear, excluding pool sessions. Equipment for the pool does not need prior reservation.

We have a good supply of kayaks, paddles, helmets and PFDs, but our two 2-person inflatable duckies are pretty popular and may be harder to book in peak periods. We have a Confirmed Hire Bookings Calendar you can check, although it is possible that someone else has requested something and we are in the process of confirming so it is yet to show as booked.  

Hire Steps
1. Equipment needs to be requested with reasonable notice (3 days) via the request form.

2. A committee member will consider the hireage request, and if approved provide a pickup time or access codes to the gear locker. If you are collecting for someone else, ensure the hireage is approved before collecting. Sending a request does not equal approval for gear hire. ** 

3. On completion of hireage, you must provide the Committee with notification (ideally via email to HuttValleyCanoeClub@gmail.com) of gear return, prompt payment and any incidents over the period.

​The HVCC Gear Hire Policy applies to all hireage, this sets out conditions and explains liability for damaged or lost gear.

Any breakage of equipment will be logged and penalties applied as deemed appropriate by the Committee.

​** If extenuating circumstances mean additional gear is required at the last minute, please contact a member of the Committee directly. 

On club trips (where the HVCC trailer is loaded) gear hire will be coordinated by the trip organiser.
